  • Day eleven of training camp, wow what a wild time it has been. This place is amazing! For starters my team has my whole heart, each person is special in their own little way and together we are a loud, ambitious bunch. I can already tell that one of the hardest things about coming home will be to leave these people. The good part is that not only can we have a good time but we can run towards Jesus together, and we do! God has shown up here and the Holy Spirit dwells with us bringing us together even though all our differences 🙂 we have been sleeping in tents, taking showers out of buckets, and hand washing our own clothes, but it is such a good way of life! They are taking all of our American privileges away and I’m so here for it. Our days are filled with worship, prayer, teaching, and team building challenges. AIM (Adventures in Missions) does an excellent job training us for what is to come and even beyond that everything we do is centered around Jesus Christ. That’s why I love it here, I’ve been craving this lifestyle so long. I want to fix my eyes on Jesus and never look away, He is mine and I am His, Praise God!

Currently we are taking a day trip to hike the Yonah mountain in Georgia. We are equipped with our day packs, sleeping bags and a few tents for P squad, R squad, and O squad. I believe we have about 75 of us racers that are going on the hike. Some are semester trips (3 months) others are anywhere from 9-11 months. Getting to know the other squads getting trained to go out and serve is so interesting! So the way that AIM does it is they have about three training camps a year and they have hundreds of racers stay on campus and then they send us out into the world and the nations to preach/ teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is so very encourage to know the hundreds of young adults who have the same mindset and mission as I do. If you don’t know much about the world race or adventures in missions do look into it!

We’re pulling into the hiking location so keep our squads in prayer as we prepare to hike to the top of the mountain!
